Zoya, Zoya, Zoya

Did you make your choices for the Zoya promotion yet? (Any 3 free, $12 shipping…see older posts for more info). I finally decided on colors last night and ended up ordering Hunter, Pepper, Louise, Rue, Odette, and Normani. Today Zoya put up this post referring to a special color for spring and possibly free shipping for anyone who participated in the promo. I’m not sure if it will be at a special price or just a new color with free shipping but it will be worth checking out when they post it on the 15th. The codes are personalized and non transferable.

If you’re on the fence about the Color Your World promo that extra incentive might make you decide to go for it. If that’s not enough to convince you to throw down the $12 for three colors, consider this; when Zoya announced the promo, they also raised their prices. This seems to be an annual thing for them because I’m pretty sure they raised their prices last January during the same promotion. They’ve been gradually doing this anyway with pixie polishes starting off at $9 and bringing the matte velvets back for $10. Now, the regular colors are all $9 instead of the $8 they were previously, and special finishes are more. That’s what convinced me to stock up during the promo, because I don’t plan to start buying alot of polish at $9-$10 each. I’m not complaining because I do understand that Zoya does more promos and giveaways than any other company. They certainly don’t have to do all these promotions and weekly Tune Tuesdays games and such. They are probably considering the fact that polishes like Butter London, Deborah Lippmann, and even Julep sell for even more. Still though, I remember when Zoya was $6 a bottle. Luckily I’ve built up my rather extensive collection during their sales.

ImageAnd by the way, does anyone know what happened to the Share The Love program on Zoya? I haven’t seen any rewards except free shipping on there for a long time. Although, free shipping is always nice. I’m just curious why they don’t talk about that program anymore.

In other news, Juice Beauty is having a thing where you could possibly win $500 worth of their products by posting reviews, so definitely check that out if you like the brand.

Julep is still offering their first Maven box for free with the code FREEBOX. Keep in mind though, this can be difficult to cancel once you’re in it. I was able to get out of it by sending them an email, but Cricket had to call them. They sent me another email saying that if you got the $9.99 starter box you could choose 2 extra colors for free. So, check out your options if you decide to try them since the free box will be random colors. I’m personally not that crazy about their polish (it was lovely but didnt last on me), however they have some beautiful colors.

Glossybox is now offering a men’s box, which looks really interesting but obviously not for me. I don’t subscribe to GlossyBox anyway due to the price but if any of you do, feel free to post your links in the comments because I’d love to see what you got.

My January Birchbox arrived yesterday so there will be a preview of that up soon.

Lastly there’s a Sephora promo where you can get a free deluxe mini of the Cotton Tshirt fragrance from Clean with any $25 purchase from their site today. If you’ve tried that, leave a comment and let me know how it smells! Happy shopping everyone!

After Christmas Sales

Hey guys! I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas, Hanukkah, and holiday season. What was your favorite gift this year? I hope that you all were able to have a great time with your family and friends and enjoy this magical time of year.

Did that sound corny, or what? It’s true though. In other news, I’m sure that like me, alot of you received giftcards so I’m currently trying to scout out some after Christmas sales. Here are a few brief ones and I’ll add to the list as needed.

  • Zoya has a deal to buy 2 Ornate Collection shades and get one free, plus $2 shipping. (Shipping is normally around $6.95 I think?) The code is NY2013. I’m tempted by this deal but they still seem to be sold out of Electra. If I could recommend one color from this collection it has to be Aurora. It’s absolutely stunning and probably my favorite polish that I’ve ever bought.
  • Nordstrom is having a buy 2 polishes get one free as well. This includes Deborah Lippmann, Butter London, The New Black, and Nordstrom brand polish. Free polish must be the same brand and Nordstrom has free shipping. No code needed.
  • Juice BeautyΒ has free shipping on all orders with the code FINALLY.
  • Julep is having a big, end of the year sale. They have some great prices on sets, individual polishes, and even jewelry and skincare products. Personally I’m not that thrilled with the two polishes of theirs that I tried, but they do have some great colors. I’m definitely tempted and things seem to be running out of stock fast.
  • Ipsy (formerly MyGlam) is promising Josie Maran argan oil in their January bag, although they don’t say what size. I’m really tempted to give them another chance just to try that oil. Has anyone used it before – if so, what did you think?
  • Victoria’s Secret is giving away a free pair of New Years Eve panties with any in store purchase through 12/31
  • Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals boutiques are giving away free lipgloss samples In Cupcake with an in store purchase through the 31st. It seems like you might need to print the email and take it with you, so be sure to go to their site and sign up for the emails so you can print it out before your visit if you want the sample.
  • Birchbox is offering extra points on orders of $35 and $50. The codes are buy35bonus35 and buy50bonus75. (Like I always say, their points reward system is fantastic).

That’s all for now. Check back soon, I’ll be posting a review of Mally eyeliner in the next few days. Happy Holidays!!

Flash Promos

Did you make your account at Zoya.com yet??

They have started their flash promos for the holidays, and some great deals have been popping up. Some of these coupon codes include free polish, free shipping, discounts and more. Usually these codes are very limited and they are posted randomly throughout the day and night. The deal may apply to the first ten people, the first 25, first 100, or even the first 1,000. To find out about the codes, you can follow Zoya on facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, or their blog. Some deals will only appear on one site, others may appear on all of them.

So far, using the flash codes I’ve been able to score a code for ‘buy 2 polishes get 2 free (with free shipping)’, and then later I got one for a free Hot Lips gloss with free shipping. These are fantastic deals but they don’t last long at all! Be sure to make your account ahead of time so that you don’t miss out. Good luck!

Another side note, I got one of the Dream boxes (Merry Christmas to me) when they were on sale last week and I wanted to mention something about that. I previously said that the boxes were all velvet – which they were last year, but apparently they aren’t this year. The boxes still come nicely packaged inside of another nice little black cardboard box, and they also still have a magnetic closure. The inside of the box is velvety, but the outside is just a coated.. matte..box.. cardboard.. type material? How’s that for a great explanation? πŸ˜‰ Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up because I didn’t know they had changed. I prefer the all velvet ones, but the new ones are still nice. They are actually a great deal because they are $24 and they ship for free, so you’re getting the box for free also. You can choose from pre selected color sets, or make your own. I chose Ziv, Aurora, and Storm for my box and they look so pretty in person, I’ll post a pic later. The flash promos are just another great reason to love Zoya, I don’t know any other company that goes for days on end randomly posting sales and freebies as a holiday gift to their customers, it’s awesome!

That’s all for now, go make your Zoya account!

Special Offer

Ulta is having a special offer I thought you guys might like to know about. Buy 1, Get 1 FREE Butter London Nail Lacquers (offers valid 9/10/12 only or while supplies last). I’ve never used Butter London but they have a 3free formula and do not test on animals. Judging by their website, Ulta offers a really large selection of colors, so check it out. Butter London polish retails for $14 a bottle. Did I mention how pretty the colors look? I’m kind of drooling over Teddy Girl, Slapper, Trout Pout and a few others. However I just loaded up on Zoya in the BOGO so you guys will have to do the polish shopping and just send me pictures. πŸ™‚
I think Ulta is also offering Tarte mascara today for $10. Check out their calendar of beauty steals for more info.

Julep Maven

*Spoiler: This ends with a coupon code. Scroll down if you don’t want to read my rambling πŸ™‚

Since you guys know how I love nail polish, it probably doesn’t surprise you that I’ve been eyeing the Julep site ever since I came across it via YouTube or Twitter or whatever shiny website I happened to be staring at that day. (Was that a long sentence, or what? Also, spell check says I spelled eyeing wrong, but eying looks even more wrong. Oh well). Julep Maven is yet another monthly subscription, this one focusing on nail polish and manicure/pedicure type things.

Normally, joining Julep Maven costs $19.95 a month. Yes, I know, yikes. That’s a little steep. They also have various kits you can purchase and mystery boxes. I saw one persons mystery box, and holy crap it was impressive. But that’s not to say that every mystery box is equally as good. (I have no idea if mystery boxes are chosen for you based on your quiz results, or if it is random). Anyway, I saw a few deals here and there where you could sign up for $10, which sounds like a pretty good bargain. However, as my Christmas list was still not completely checked off, I decided to pass on it. Then a code popped up for $5 for the first month, which sounded like a great deal and I made a mental note to come back to it once my shopping was complete. Today, I see a code saying that you can sign up and get your first box for ONE. CENT. Needless to say, I jumped on it. I’ve never tried Julep polishes, but they are chemical free and come in pretty little bottles that look like lipgloss. (Just make sure you don’t mistake them for lipgloss!). Supposedly, you can cancel at any time and they seem to have a nice referral program. If you’re a Julep member, please comment and let us know what you think of it!

And if you’d like to sign up for this one cent deal, the code is SHAREON and here’s a link http://www.julep.com/?r=18201691
